I've watched parts of One Piece but really got into it because of the Live Action, and now that I've watched a couple arcs I can truly say, the Live Action didn't really do the anime justice, lol. I mean it was good don't get me wrong but holy fuck the anime is just THAT much better. I really think you need the time to go into detail some of the back stories.

Johnny and Yosaku were not in the live action, so don't worry Ange, you didn't forget anyone (this time) also, Zoro is my favorite character, and always has been, i am caught up and current with the anime, i am watching your reactions as a way of rewatching/remembering stuff from earlier episodes/arcs

These two are so good at their reactions. Ange always coming through with the funny one liners. Also they are so spot on with saying that Otto gets unfair criticism. He's a complex man but he does know what is right and wrong and isn't just some evil guy who does evil things like say Daemon does. Proof of that is when he confronted Aegon and said they were poorer for it, now that Viserys was dead.

One Piece do touch on some heavy subjects, be it in the manga, anime or LA. But the live action makes it too dark and too serious compared to the other two. Additionaly, the manga and anime have better character presentations and depth, flashbacks included.

Unfortunately, Zoro’s story is one of the important moments that buried the live action adaptation for me... Yes, there are still quite a few important mistakes, but judge for yourself, here we were shown the motivation of Zoro and Queen, they showed the confrontation, and what is important, relationship. In LA they got into a fight, Quina started talking about the difference between the sexes, where her speech breaks down about the filming of the series, where she repeats the original speech, saying that the boys will become bigger... But it works when Zoro is one and a half times shorter than her, but in the series he is already higher. But this could have been corrected with graphics or camera work... And the speech itself has no prehistory. There is no overheard conversation... We don't even know that Sansei is her father. And if you think about it, all these errors, upon careful viewing, will be noticed by those who are not familiar with the original...

Yeah, that's what happens when you get so much more time to dedicate to a section like Zoro's backstory. They had to cut a lot of the background and try to boil it down to the absolute essentials. I think they did really well in the live action for the restrictions they had.

seems cole's attempt was better than deamon's, in plan, acceptable target, benefit on the long term on success. and almost succeeded. what to think of the audience, most of whom hate cole far more than deamon, who committed worse atrocities. it is ok to hate cole, its the comparative reaction that is odd. while deamon is a real psychopath(and rather 2d one at that ) cole clearly isn't a psychopath, and a more complex character creation. btw with reference to some comments , cole was off duty( and "abed" lol ) after handing over to night watch, or so he says to aegon when questioned at small council. some seems to have missed that .

Unfurtunately Johnny wasn't in the live action. By the way his another reason that "HITS YOU 3x HARDER" in the anime 😊

Y'all are right. The live action just didn't pull off the Zoro backstory, and the anime did a really good job. The bar was set too high lol
